#homeowner

I bought a house!! Since well before I moved back to Florida last year I've been looking to move into my own place. I finally found a super cute house that has a lot of potential!
Its's a 2 bedroom, 1 bathroom, 1,000 sqft home built in 1971 with an open floor plan, a one car garage, and a big backyard! I love the Florida style turquoise shutters and the faux brick halfway up the front. I have big plans for this little vintage gem! The dogs and I love being homeowners and are having lots of fun new adventurers!

The Kitchen
This is a huge kitchen by all means! It has pretty decent cabinet space and they're all reachable for someone of my height The giant island (which is actually really far away from the rest of the kitchen) is the literal center piece of the space! ZIt has a lot of light in general as well as tons of natural light.
and after all, there's my window wall.

It had an adorable built-in bar! I put up the peg board myself  for extra vertical storage for my shot glass collection among other things...

The Living Room
I kept a lot of my same furniture from NC. All I needed to buy when I moved in was a couch and a washer & dryer. Both which I found on Craigslist for super cheap! The dogs love the chaise so they can look out the big front window. I found the cute wood grain battery powered pendant lights at Target to add soft light at night because there isn't any light in this room!
Slade can be seen in his natural habitat with his signature little black ball.

The Florida Room
This room is like a fish bowl with big windows on all 3 sides! One of the things I love about this house the most is the beautiful pristine terrazzo floors that were only visible in this room. They have flecks of different shades of greys and blues, which I love! They're actually throughout the house, but mostly covered up by new wood laminate. Weirdly, this room is separated from the rest of the house by sliding glass doors that disappear into the wall, which is neat. One day I'll remove them all together, they stay open anyways.

The Master Bedroom
Both bedrooms also had the original terrazzo floors, but they were covered in ugly carpet. The first project I did was rip them out and buff and polish up the terrazzo. This master is huge! I found that armoire on the side of the road after hurricane Irma. I'm always against painting real wood antique furniture because they're beautiful pieces of history that you shouldn't ruin with nasty chalk paint with really loud colors. If you've ever stripped real wood antique furniture, you'll never paint it! This however, is laminate, so no harm done. That jewelry box on top of it was left by the old owner in the closet of the other bedroom. The room decorated almost exactly like my bedroom at my Mom's except I got a new super cute queen sized bed because my 100 pound Doberman sleeps with me and our double bed was getting too small.

There's a street light in the front yard that's head is crocked and shines right into this window at night.

The Bathroom
It's small, has ugly floors, and there's a window above the bathtub. I have the most reno plans for this room like wainscoting and subway tile. When I lived at my Mom's I started cleaning out her garage and found some antique bathroom hardware in a Scotty's bag. It was no lie, just enough for my vanity!

That toilet paper holder is a real working radio from the 40's or 50's

The Backyard

The other bedroom/craft room and garage are still disasters.
